Will and I moved to my grandparent's farm about 7 years ago after my grandmother passed away. It took me a long time to be able to part with anything that reminded me of her (which made for one full house!). The one thing that I have not touched has been her rack of beads and necklaces. They hung inside her closet on the door. Before going to church on Sunday, she would always go to her closet and don some colorful strand (or two) of beads.
We have been on a cleaning spree and finally came to the closet with Grandma's beads. I debated about what to do with Grandma's baubles. I finally decided to hang them back on their hooks in my closet where I can admire them daily. There is just something special about seeing their colors and hearing the necklaces sweep across the back of my closet door.
